In response to the COVID-19 Virus:
Our office remains open at this time but with reduced hours for the public (9am to 12pm). Our staff are still working full business hours (830am to 5pm) and we are advising people to communicate with us via email and telephone as much as possible. In addition, we have a mail slot at our front door for patrons to drop off records. As always, please ensure your records are clearly marked with your name and contact information.
For personal income tax filers:
The Canada Revenue Agency has extended the deadline for personal income tax from April 30, 2020 to June 1, 2020.
For all income tax filers:
The Canada Revenue Agency will allow all taxpayers to defer, until after August 31, 2020, the payment of any income tax amounts that become owing on or after today (March 18, 2020) and before September 2020. This relief would apply to tax balances due, as well as instalments, under Part I of the Income Tax Act. No interest or penalties will accumulate on these amounts during this period.
