We are a busy, progressive Vancouver Island CPA firm seeking full-time staff accountant to join our team.
Staff Accountant/Senior accounting technician
Responsibilities of this position will include:
- Preparation of Compilation, Review and Audit engagement working paper files
- Hands-on experience with client files and direct client interaction
- Financial statements preparation
- Preparation of personal and corporate tax returns
- Integrated Tax planning
- General accounting, payroll, GST/HST, WCB and other returns as required
Requirements:
Skills required for this position include:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in public accounting
- File preparation and strong accounting skills
- Proficiency with CaseWare, Microsoft Office and Intuit Profile (or similar) tax software
- Knowledge of bookkeeping software suites such as Simply Accounting, Quickbooks or Wave
- Ability to prioritize workload demands and multiple tasks
- Good organizational skills required to meet deadlines
- Strong communication, technical and interpersonal skills
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to work independently
Preferences:
Attributes helpful for this position include:
- CPA Designation
- Bachelor of Commerce Degree or equivalent
- Extended work experience in a public accounting firm
